Anyone have experience with Sumo Springs instead of Timbren

Thought I knew everything about this truck. Fun fact!

If you do elect to drop the headliner let me know....there are a couple of plastic fasteners you will want on hand.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

I'm optimistic that the new roof lights will fix the leak. I don't really want to drop the headliner unless absolutely necessary.

Mike,

Which plastic fasteners are those? I am also hoping not to have to drop my headliner, but it's good to be prepared. Particularly if those fasteners are a "dealer only" item.

On the Megacab there is one, maybe two (fuzzy memory)plastic push fasteners right in the center of the headliner that help hold it in place. Large plastic head the same color as headliner.

They have a set of fingers in above the headliner that you can't see to maintain the space between the headliner and the roof crossmember.

I studied the situation and decided that I would be far better off to gently cut the head off and deal with the remainder of it once the headliner was down. That was the right decision for sure. Not a mark on that headliner.
Those are a dealer only item and I had to order them. Not something a dealer would normally stock.

Not sure if the quadcabs have them or not, I would think that there might be at least one up there.

Trying to remember as I did it in 09. Might still have pictures at the house...will be back home Friday night...

It kinda like a hardboard/cardboard backing. Had to cut out a hole for the DVD player mounting bracket and I did it with a utility knife as I recall...

Thanks. This is good information.

Thats what i figured. So it can be damaged with enough water... :(

They are pretty resistant to water as long as it dries out quickly enough and does not puddle. The real problem is staining of the fabric side. Once it stains the only way to fix it is replace.

So far no stains...

Had a fair amount of rain yesterday and today. Light, steady rain with a couple of downpours. Went out a couple of hours ago and no leak! I'm taking that as a good sign.
