To EZ or not to EZ?

I've got 6000 miles on my HO truck and I'm now on the second revolution of the shifter lever. The knob itself isn't turning and I'm not able to muscle the thing back around but as I drive it works it's way around. I mentioned it to a couple of folks at the May Madness rally in Vegas last month and no one seem to know the reason for it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I assume you mean just the center shift pattern insert. You can use a small screwdriver to pry it out and put a dab of glue in behind it.

Don't glue it. Carefully pry out the insert (works best if the weather is warm, shift knob more pliable). Score the ridge on the insert with a knife in several places and re-install. (vibration causes insert to rotate)

Same problem on second generation Rams. Easy fix and if you ever have to remove it you don't have to deal with the glue.

Could it be secret type of odometer?? My '02 rotated every 10K. '03 only has 150 miles so it still has not moved... ... .....
