On my way home today i was coming to a stop sign and it started to idle rough as i was slowing down. Went to go again and it was fine until i slowed to pull in my driveway did the same thing. It is fine at any rpm except 750 rpms. ( Truck was idleing for about 20min before i left , its 1 degree F ,not plugged in but started fine, engine temp was around 160f - 180 when i got home )

Mines had a similar problem for over 100,000 miles and the dealership still gives me the ol' "We can't find anything wrong with it" crap. My 03 has been very reliable but the problem is etremely annoying. It white smokes like crazy at idle and there is a miss heard at the tailpipe at idle. I think it's an injector issue.

Had some 01/02s do this. Had to check valve adjust, fuel filter etc. turn out a INJECTOR. Miss was very slight. But it did miss. Star had us go around on them and turned out a injector issue. replaced injectors no more slight miss etc. I can see checking valve adjust etc. but there were other hoops they wanted tech to jump through. Next truck that came in he kinda told Star BIG FAT LIES and got injectors coming, put them in and was fixed and out the door. Saved several hours of phone calls and on HOLD forever etc. They wanted pop tests on each one etc. That tech and a few others when it came to aftermarket performance boxes they were MUM. Didn't want a LONG stink concerning Star,Service Manager,Customer etc. They wanted to diagnois/fix/get paid/hand it to customer in the least amount of time and be done. Theres ways to play the game. Benifits lots of folkes to play it smart and quiet some times.

White smoke is vaporized fuel or crankcase oil(Unburned). This would indicate low compression. On a hot engine as this was I would suspect valve adjustment.

I did about 5 hours of plowing sat evening , then again sun morning. It seems to be fine now once i got it hot i think i might have had some kinda build up burn off. The engine has not gotten up to temp. for to long lately. It sound great now. I waas parked 25ft from a late 90s chevy diesel. I could not hear mine running.
