48re band adjustment issue

Hello, my ram 3500 has 281K miles, i have replaced the FCA in an attempt to remedy the problem, no luck there. I then checked the codes ( i know... backwards) using the ignition key / digital readout and found P0839 and P0483. The 0483 might be related to my AC not working last week, since fixed. From what i can tell the 0839 is supposed to be for the 4 wheel drive switch...but the odd part is my truck is now and has always been a 2 wheel drive??? So my two questions are:

1. what gives with the 4 wheel drive code in a 2 wheel drive truck?
2. what else should i check in an attempt to remedy my rough idle?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Rick

Makes me think you have a wiring problem or an ECM malfunction. Even though you have a 2wd, the programming for 4wd is still in the ecm. Even on the 04-07 manual trucks there is still all the 48RE parameters in the flash file.

If you have a wiring problem throwing off the reference voltage of other sensors that would explain your issues.

Disconnect the fan and see if anything changes. The P0483 is a code for fan speed, if the fan is going bad it will throw garbage into the data bus causing many problems. Also check the AC activation wire and make sure it has not rubber bare on something causing more garbage on the data bus.

Thanks for the info...I will check once back from the repair shop. Took it in last week. The tech performed a cut out test and determined that the number 3 injector was bad. As the truck has 280k I decided to replace all 6 injectors. I thought it was odd that the check engine light didn't come on for a bad injector

You will not get codes for a bad injector, the only thing monitored is the solenoid and they go bad less than any part of the injectors. What did you use for replacement injectors? Hopefully you got new and not reman or your problems may just be starting.
