Last night truck started running rough, you could feel it and hear it in the exhaust. Then when I would put it in gear it would knock, like a gasser with not enough octane in the fuel. No CEL, I just shut it down and then started it back up and it was fine??? I run Power Service with every fill up. Any ideas?

Had Same Symptoms Just Got Truck Back From Dealer After Having An Injectior Replaced Everything Is Normal Know.

Are there any ways I can diagnose this myself before I leave it at dealer for a month. I would think if it was an injector it would do it all the time, but it only does it once in a blue-moon??

I had one doing the same thing. Shut it off and it was o. k. This went on for 2 or 3 months. I do not know why but my fuel filter cap got loose some dang way and was pulling air in we guessed and it finally cracked #6 inject line. Replaced line and tightned cap and everything has been fine for the last 25,000 miles. Never did figure out how the fuel filter cap got loose.

I think it will be a carbon build up condition if yer line aint cracked... we dont run these engines hard enough and the build carbon on the injector tips. . i dont particulary care for Power service as I had the same problem not too long ago... I changed my fuel filter and poured a can of SEAFOAM (sold at Napa) in the filter canister and another in the tank... . within a 1/4 tank (150 miles+-) It smoothed out and cackle is gone... i now put a couple of cans in the tank every third or fourth tank... . no more cackle... . just a thought

on edit... after you you do the above (if you do) go out and run it hard and clean the snot out of it... I think you will see a BIG difference

I was having the same issues with mine until I went on a long trip with 10K in tow. I towed almost every day for 800 miles. When I got back she was smooth as silk. I've been back to normal day to day driving for about a month now and the "cackle" is back. I'm coming to grips with it and don't pay much attention to it anymore. I'll just tow the crap out it every now and then to clean it out.

Ive sort of came to this conclusion too, I do *****-foot it a lot then Ill romp on her every now and then but not for an extended period of time. Ill try this sounds like a good idea, thanks.

PS checked the line (as best I could, no leaks) filter lid was on good and tight.
