rough idle and lost power

i have my truck about 3 months and really like it till now, about 8-10 days ago it started to idle really rough,seems to have lost power and when you accel. it shakes, but when it goes in o. d. and locks up it really shakes. when you go back to the tail pipe it sound like it misfires. at first it tought it might be the cold weather here or bad fuel ,so i tried getting fuel a different places the last couple of days and changed the fuel filter,now today it was in the 60's and it's not any better. i called the dealer but can't get it in till next week because off the holiday. anybody else have this happen? i almost forgot ,ialso have a code up p0483.

Hmmm... I would have guessed bad fuel and or dirty fuel filter also. The other thing it sounds like is air in the fuel system.

You describe a miss fire!. Injector gone by by I bet. Or a HIGH psi pump

The P0483 is a cooling fan speed code. I doubt that has anything to do with it.

All the P codes are listed in the FAQ.

Did you ever find out what the problem was? Mine had a fuel leak at the return line on the back of the head.

Lift Pump DOA

If you replace your filter and still have the problem then it could be the lift pump (also called fuel transfer pump) which is attached to the side of the filter canister.

I have 03 only 3 mos old and had on and off rough idle and loss of power and only 7000 miles

I ran injector cleaner through tank of fuel and no more rough idle no more lope and a noticable power change

The bottle of injector cleaner i used said it was good for 14 gal. fuel so I used 3 bottles

And all is well now.
