I remember a couple of posts about rough idle problems and mine has been doing it for a while now so, I finally took it to the dealer. (I would rather have a root canal done!!) I thought maybe an injector but I got a call today from them and they said the injector pump is failing. Truck has 7500 miles and is stock. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

If I were you, I'd make sure they test your lift pump before you drive that thing away. If they replace the CP-3 but leave a faulty lift pump you'll just end up ruining another CP-3.

I talked to the service advisor and asked about that and he said that the lift pump failure issue had more to do with the 2nd gens? He also went on to say that there have been a lot of injector pump problems on the 2004 models. Hmmmm, do these guys really know what there talking about or do they get training courses on blowing smoke up our behinds. Any body else with an 04 had one go bad? I will pick it up in the moring and see how it runs.

Well this thing must have started to go bad a couple months after new because it hasn't run this smooth since new. You cant even see the tach bouncing at an idle. When I took it in there was about a 50 rpm needle movement. The other good news is star required flow tests on the lift pump and the results of all pressure and flow tests are on my paperwork.
