I just dug up this post from 3-1-05 concerning running royal purple in your transmission and the conflicts with the dealer that it creates. Will the dealer void my warranty if I run RP ATF max in my transmission. Here is the post I found. Thanks for any help.

This is a an email I got from Royal Purple concerning their ATF fluid. I think it is really ridiculous to not let anyone else manufacture a comparable product. When my warranty runs out I will definately change!

While your truck is covered under warranty I recommend using the ATF=4 transmission fluid. At this time Royal Purple is not offering a replacement fluid for the ATF+4 that Dodge will allow the use of while under warranty. In fact I don’t know of any aftermarket fluid that Dodge will allow you to use under warranty in that transmission.

Now after your warranty has expired you can use Max ATF with no problem.

I can't imagine RP doesn't have an ATF+4 Fluid by now. Amsoil has had ATF+4 for many years.

pretty much from what I have seen most synthetic ATF fluids will meet atf+4 since on order for a oil to match atf+4 its going to be synthetic but i may be wroung

I asked my royal purple dealer what he thought of putting max atf in my 2004. 5 transmission. His reply was ,although it dosen't say atf+4 on the bottle ,it will perform very well, some of the factory engineers have it in thier chrysler products. It's been in mine for years with a 100hp box and some heavy towing,no problems.
