royal purple in transmission???

Did I read somewhere that royal purple in the 6 speed transmission helps it shift into gear easier? My 6 speed is sometimes hard to get into gear esp. reverse.

R. P. did appear to improve my shifting a little but maybe it was just in my head. DC does not recomend any other lube but part #4874464 although Pennzoil Syncromesh has this part # listed on the bottle and that it is recomended by Pennzoil for the NV5600. See my ordeal about the SB CON OFE shifting problems with the NV5600 in my 03 DCD. The pennzoil is $4. 59 a qt and the DC is priced totally insane for supposidly the same product. 300% mark up. Now if anyboby has more accurate information jump in now before this guy makes a mistaken!

Where To Buy NV-5600 Transmission Fluid



I prefer not to experiment with unapproved fluids. The stuff spec'd by Dodge has additives specific to the NV5600.



Other members have had sucess with a number of other products.

Try it if you want. I installed a sbc con fe and replaced the factory fluid with the penz. synchromesh. Switched back to mopar fluid and fixed the shifting problem. I wouldn't think the transmission would be that picky but evidently it is. In my opinion I would pay for the over priced factory fluid and be done with it.
