Royal Purple - NV-4500 60,000 mile report.

Just crossed 60,000 miles with Royal Purple in the NV-4500. The MaxGear 75W-90 came out looking like it was just poured in.



The truck had 119,000 miles when we bought it and it had another popular brand (here anyway, PM me if you want to know who) and shifted very rough in 1st and reverse, smoothed out after 5,000 miles with the RP.



Shifts perfectly now, not bad for one oil change.



I have put over 60,000 miles on my NV-5600's with Royal Purple Synchromax, heavy towing, high temps, zero problems, zero grinds.





Royal Purple, FastCooler and PTO filter = many happy smooth shifting miles.

Did you just put a fast cooler on one side or did you put the filter on the end of a cooler? I thought I read where the two were not compatable. I was thinking of finding someone to split a set of fast cooler so I could get extra lube capacity and keep the filter on the one side.

FastCooler (1) on the driver side and PTO filter (1) on the passenger side. Putting a PTO filter on the end of the FastCooler would be senseless, like you said.



Genos Garage sells just one cooler, ask for it in the F**D section, the F**D's have only one PTO cover.
