I heard a commercial for a local aftermarket/performance shop the other day and one of their "claims" was that the oil they used could alone add to your horsepower-----it was royal purple.

But then their air filter and their exhaust system each added horse power also????

I've used it for the past three years or so. Was running about 12K and then changing but have installed a single amsoil bypass setup. Had the oil tested at 10K and all was great. I will test again at 20K and see what is going on then. I haven't been driving it much, the company bought me a new company truck last year and I drive it a lot. Better than racking up miles on mine (But it is a Ford gasser and I miss the noisy diesel and the mileage!)

I also have RP in the rear end. I had the rear end rebuilt, ran regular lube for a couple of thousand miles to let the gears lap in and then changed to the RP. Seems to be OK except when the rear was rebuilt the limited slip was also done and it is pretty tight. Wanted to "chatter" just a little so I put in a bottle of the Dodge additive. RP says additives are not required?

I may change to Amsoil, can get it a little cheaper. Time will tell.

Been using RP 15W40 for 50K miles. Change filter @ 7500,Change all @ 15000 per Reputable RP employee (can go longer with testing) :D

I've been running it for about a year and a half. I still change it at about 5K to 7. 5K miles (probably a bit of a waste). I like it. My only problem is I can't get it locally so I have to have it dropped to my by the area rep. I buy it by the 5 gal. pail.

I had one oil analysis done late last winter at about 5K miles. Everything was very good. I'll stick with it.

I have been using RP 15W40 for 135,000 miles in my 95. Ran a baseline sample with Cummins Blue at 42,000 and changed to RP. Sampled every 6,000 when I changed filter. After looking at samples for two years, I change filters every 6,000 miles, sample at 12,000 miles and sample and change oil at 24,000 miles which is about once a year. So far so good.

We have a local RP sales rep who does a good job. He keeps up on what is happening and also sells the sample kits.

I do analysis and use a bypass. I sample every 5k and change the full flow when the report comes back. Last sample was at 15k and the oil chemistry still looked like nearly new oil. Still on the original bypass element. Soot stays consistantly at . 1%. I'll use soot level as indicator to change the bypass. Apparently make up oil (1 qt for the full flow and about 1. 5 qts burnt each sample period) is keeping oil chemistry excellent. I've been paying about $3. 85/qt. Craig
