Yes, the same here. I understand that will change come DTT TC time.

I have Bill K. 's 'VB' specially set up for my driving habits and my truck.
The shift from 1st to 2nd is solidly harsh, less than 25rpm, the other shift points at light throttle are probably around 50rpm. The shift from 3rd to 4th at medium throttle brings a huge smile to my face #ad

Harry, I replied to your e-mail, and your shift RPM's are normal, because of the stock TC. All of that will change with the DTT TC, when you're ready for that. Then, you'll see why these 2 pieces work their magic. You'll see larger RPMs drops between 1,2 and 2,3 then a small drop into lockup. Kind of like the opposite of what you see now.

Welcome to the dark side! #ad
You should try a "seat of the pants" experience and then you'll understand how/why the DTT VB & TC combination is a no-brainer. Only problem is that I'm not exactly in your neck of the woods... . perhaps someone else is a bit nearer?

If you are coming to the DFW area let me know, I am the installer in these parts and have put in quite a few. I know there is a fellow(S. Gilbert) who lives in Aledo who might let you ride or drive his to feel the difference with the TC. The usual reaction is "I gotta have this!". Aledo is on I-20 west of Ft. Worth. Happy Rammin'

harry , the VB should not have changed your rpm drop , that function is TC related .

are your shift rpms the same as before the change , you were supposed to record them before you started .

if before the VB your shift rpm was 3000 rpm and if after the VB your shift rpm is 3000 rpm then your rpm drop should be the same .

if your shift points were at 3000 rpm before and now they are at 2700 rpm after the VB change then the rpm drop between shifts will be LESS

if your shift point before was at 2700 rpm and now iit's at 3000 rpm your rpm drop will be MORE .

the higher the rpm the stronger the fluid coupling will become if all is well inside the TC . the longer the vanes on the stator , the closer the the 2 pumps ( impeller and turbine) are , the more the curature of the vanes of the stator the higher the torque multiplication .

edited for less confusion .

if you are still troubled or confused harry , give the shop a call
