I know that this has been on B-4 but I can not find info. the truck is a 94 2500 auto, running at road speed the rpm jumps 100 to 200 rpm. The torque converter is coming unlocked and relocked. can someone help! leaving on a 1600 mile trip in a week. Or if anyone knows where the thread is please help. THANKS !!

Sounds like it could be your TPS. Do a search, you should to able to find info on how to clean and check the voltage on it.

I agree it sounds like the TPS but first I would check the trans fluid level to be sure you are not low. I have had this problem a few times. When I change the oil I try to remember to disconnect the TPS and spray in some electronic contact cleaner and then some WD-40. I have 251,000+ miles on the truck and have not replaced or repaired the TPS, just clean the connector. I often get this problem during very wet weather or after I wash off the engine. I think most of it is moisture causing erratic electric pulses. I also try to turn off the cruise and then reset it. That doesn't always work but sometimes it does.
