I have a couple of questions about RPM on our engines. What should the RPM be at idle? Is there a way to adjust our idle RPM with out going to the dealer?
Does any one else see there tach bounce around when the truck is in park or out of gear? My tach bounces (about 50 rpm) when I am in park but once the engine is in drive is is rock solid. I belive this is realated to the bigger injectors but I wanted to check.

Not sure of the spec for idle RMP on the 01 - mine is around 750. As far as I know the RPM is set through the puter and can not be changed without going to a dealer or someone else who can reprogram the brain box.
When new mine would bounce a little =/- 25 rmps but as miles rack up (22,300) it is smoothing out.

Mine does this also - it is the tach, not the injectors (on mine). It has always done this. Also if you are driving and accelerate VERY slowly, the tach jumps in ~50rpm increments instead of moving slowly.
