Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) RPM rise in P and N.

I've had my 3GSK in for about a week now and everything seems to be going good except that when I place the transmission in Park or Neutral the RPMs rise to 1000 to 1300. I've noticed a few times that when I placed the transmission in park that it would rise to 900 RPM but not very often. AC affects it quite a bit, sometimes it causes idle in park to drop other times nothing.



Idle in gear with AC on is 750 and is always consistent.

did you measure stud protrusion or just count clicks? you might try backing each nut off one click

before you disassembled? I don't know if I've ever seen a factory stack that had exactly the same height on both sides

No after assembly.

hmm... guessing you may be too tight or have an imbalance from side to side.



most accurate way I've found is to measure stud protrusion from the factory, install the stack to the same height, then do the same for the other stack. I've never seen a pump that was exactly the same from side to side
