RPM / speed

It seems that MOST every one forgets to put diff ratio,tire size if not stock or trans in sigs or profile, guess that they are unimportant when giving incomplete info on other speed/ rpm/gear/ tire size/etc... ... ... ... ... . threads.





Now for my question :

At what rpm is a 6speed/ 3:73 with stock 265/70/17tires doing at 55, 65, 75 mph in 6th gear.

Assuming michelin is correct @ 657 rev's per mile for the stock tires - you should see the following:



55mph = 1640 rpm

65mph = 1938 rpm

75mph = 2236 rpm



or for any speed



1st gear, rpm = mph x 227. 3

2nd gear, rpm = mph x 138. 9

3rd gear, rpm = mph x 83. 3

4th gear, rpm = mph x 56. 8

5th gear, rpm = mph x 40. 8

6th gear, rpm = mph x 29. 8
