I have a 2002 dodge 2500 quad 4x4 with 43000 miles. When I hit 40 mph the rpm surge approx. 500 rpm's from 1200 to 1700 and back to 1200. If I drive at fill throttle pass 40 mph this doesn't happen. Any body have any help to this?

Depending on how the truck is set up & adjust this may be normal , the lock up & over drive should come on about that speed .
But it would be a good idea to have a good trany shop take for a test drive and get there oppion .
Then with more info you could use the search & advice here .
There are some TSBs for that but you need to find out if what your finding is normal or not and that would have to be almost driven by some one that was familure with these trucks.
Do buy anything on the 1st est. unless its one to the few trans shops that work on these .
Where are you ? some one could suggest where to go if we knew what city - state .
