About 1000 miles ago I started up (already warmed up) and ran for about a mile with a bad sputter. Cleared up on its own and has not recurred. But on a 300 mile run last weekend, I noticed for the first time that she idled 100 rpm lower than normal (normal = 550) and “growled,” though the tach did not seem to move.
I noticed the growling (like up and down throttle) also when backing off as long as the truck was in motion and when the rpm fell to about 1000 or less. Stopping cured the problem as well as adding throttle. I did NOT notice this symptom on the 30 mile ride to work today, so it seems to be related to long, hot runs.
224 K, Banks Git Kit, Amsoil dual remote. Return fuel line replaces with steel braided racing ling about 170k.
Any thoughts?
Thanks…
