I just picked this brand new 05 late Saturday night. I was just giving it a good shake down and noticed the passenger side and drivers side doors are eating the rubber molding on the A-pillar.

Basically the point of the door towards the bottom of the A-pillar makes a point or more like a hump. This hump is eating the top door molding. Is there a fix for this?

My 04. 5 did that when it was brand new also. Never leaked or anything, just looked ugly. I noticed on my '06 that they have a different seal now that is trimmed down in that area specifically.

Mine OEM did too and DC replaced it...

The new "replacement" molding is doing it too...

My 04 has the same issue, Dodge dealer told me it’s a design flaw. Luckily I’m still under warranty for now, how many more times will it tear, I guess forever he said. Glad to see it wasn’t just my truck. Bummer  I'll have to check out the low profile seals.

Took my truck in and one service advisor said that it was the damnedest thing he ever saw. Then questioned if the truck had been wrecked. Another advisor came by and said that he saw it many times before. The new style molding looks like it will last for awhile. The service advisor meetings at the dealership must make Mayberry look like a think tank.
