Like a lot of you guys, I'm constantly installing accessories. Just put my painless wiring panel in. Needing more access under hood. Drilled a 1" hole in the fire wall. I'll never need any more access than that I thought. I assumed taht a 1" grommet with a seal that will allow wires to pass through could be picked up anywhere. Now I can't find one. The next time I try a trick like this, I'll get the gromment THEN I'll drill the hole. Although duct tape is better than nothing, I'd like something a little more professional. anyone know where I might find such a part? Thanks in advance for your help.

big Hole

That putty tape they use for RV's works pretty good. Not as ugly as duct tape. I use it on holes in the floor where I pass through Coax cables.

My local ACE hardware sells them in a WIDE variety of sizes - I use 6 like you mention in the bed of my truck to run fuel hose and radio coax cables...

The '01 trucks don't have the big solid grommet on the firewall like my '97 does? That is what I drilled a hole through. Nothing was in the way under the dash.

the things that we doooo

The spot that I found was in by the transfer shifter. Being an electrician I us a 1/2 or 3/4 knock out cutter for electrical boxes this works well. Us a mires hub, this has a o-ring to keep out water then screw in a liquid tight connector and a length to where you want to go to. Or the hub and a strain relief connector and or without the cord and use RTV or Sika flex if you want to seal it "really well "if you want to use extention cord the different temp and size ratings that you may want? You should be able to get these at a hardware store/ electrical hardware store hope that this helps. :)
