Most of us assume that the fuel lines supplied with aftermarket fuel systems is a once and done thing... its not.

I just finished pulling all the old FASS fuel lines out (replaced the FASS last fall with an AirDog) and found the Parker hose dry rotted, and I could pull it apart in places. Now, don't get me wrong, the hose was on for about 180k and since 2005; so its wasn't a complete surprise.

So keep that in mind if you have aftermarket hoses and put any miles, or have any age on the system.

Yep truth be told there. I called Fass the other day as I do need to replace all of my line. I told em about the line and how maybee there is a total of 60,000 miles on the lines and Brad and Myself installed the system in Muncie's parking lot in 2004.

For the life of me I could not remember what size the line was (Hence the call to Fass) and laughingly I told em that I seem to remember the line was once blue and now being a powdery white I need to replace it. By the sounds of it they have heard about the dry rot issue before.

I am so not blaming them as I have had fuel line on tractors , mopeds , equipment rot in less time with the same PVC coating. I amwondering if the new stuff that is out for biofuels and veg is a bit better as solvency is alot higher in those fuels.

I do know the recent fuel-type line I've purchased has a different feel to it than the old stuff... almost oily. Maybe they've addressed the dry-rot thing?
