ESPAR

Installing an ESPAR package will be much better in the long run.

Come summer, do you want to run your heater to keep the trany cooled? The heat exchanger on the side of my Cummins helps keep my trany fluid up to temperature in the winter. I'm thinking of adding a partial cover to the upfront cooler, too.

I removed the fan (thanks Bill and others for giving me the silence!) this winter. The cold front will go on once I find them or buy a nifty new set from Eric. Cardboard between the intercooler and radiator will go on when the temps drop to the 0° F. range and stay there.

I'm thinking I should have added insulation in the cab, too. Both to deaden sound and hold the winter heat.

Warm regards;

The Winter guards that I am making have been interesting. the temp sensor that is up front by the grill one time measured 34 deg outside, then I started the truck and within 3 minutes, the temp reading was 38 deg. the guards help retain heat in front of the radiator so it heats up faster. I can get the needle off the 140 mark in 5-10 minutes in 25 deg weather. I am planing on making the bumper hole inserts when it gets real cold ( 0 or lower):eek:

The classified section under miscellaneous has my ad on the guards. I make the reg and sport and 1st gen models.

Able to make dozen sets/day.

Also use the block heater for the few minutes that the engine is running. cold water gets circulated past that heater and in 3-4 minutes, the air coming out of the vents is a little warm already.

For all that have bought my winter guards, Thank you , hope you enjoy them.

Eric
