I bought my ram used and it has always run out of fuel at 1/4 tank mark. I just fill up now before I hit 1/4. Seems like I get a little over 400 miles per tank and I know that my mileage isnt bad , about 18 or 19 averageing 70 mph. Any suggestions.

Your gauge is off like mine. I just use my tripometer as reference and calculate for the worst MPG (16). Or have the tank sending unit checked/replaced.

Fuel gauge sending units located in the fuel tank are known to go bad. Been happening since 94 maybe before.
My first one replaced under warranty. The second one(also went bad)is still in there.
I use trip odometer for fill ups. I go to 500 to 600 mile before refilling.
How to repair/replace in archives.

Thanx for replys. I lifted the bed today to check out what was wrong? possible sending unit. Low and behold the fuel line plastic hose that goes to the in tank filter had a hole worn in it. serious about half way up. It looks as though it wore through from a screw sticking through on the pickup device. I dont know. Also looks like Im not the first person to look into the tank. Previous owner maybe? Anyway, put a little tape over the hole and then jb welded it shut . hope it works. let you know
