I have a 1994 3500 4x4 5spd. It has a little over 200,000 miles. I keep hearing about trucks running away and the KDP. I have not fixed my DP and do not know about the runaway problem. Please help. The truck was my wife's papas truck. He special ordered it in 93 and used it to pull his dozer and tractor. It has 4. 10's and is dually. It has some sort of fuel plate, but I do not know which kind and do not know how to check. I am new to the TDR, so I will probably have many questions. Thanks.

A '94 is the first of the 2nd gen trucks. '89 thru '93 were 1st gen. I don't think you have to worry about a runaway with only 200K miles. It's just broke in with those miles. Email me at -- email address removed -- for info on how to tab the KDP and a write up on the 12 valve fuel supply system, how it works and how to fix it.

Runaway usually involves the turbo seal busting and allowing engine oil to feed the cylinders causing the engine to increase in rpms until it tears apart.

Pull your intake hose off the turbo now and then to check for any oil seapage.

Joe has good directions for KDP.
