all stock 01. 5 Dually are that size... many older [pre 01. 5] have upgraded the 215's to 235'... it's a good tire but leaves a ton of space in the well

the issue is disc brakes v/s non disc... the disc require the larger offset rims, allowing the 235's from the factory. .

and you are talking Dually's aren't you ?

No, I have the 2500. There are simply more tires and better prices with the 235/85. I just cannot imagine that the 1 inch difference from the 265/75 can be that big. Afterall, no matter what size the tire, the same amount would hit the ground for a given inflation.

The tire makers say 7" is the biggest for a 235/85, but the tire sellers say 16X8 is okay. What is the consenus? I cannot find the specs for the wheels I have now or any others that Dodge used for the 2500.

Snowman,

Your factory wheel dimensions are located on the sticker in the door jam. Same sticker with VIN, max axle loads and gross vehicle weight rating and tires size truck was equipped with. Usually says 16X6 1/2. If you do not have factory wheels, this is no good.

PS Tell Bandit "Hello" for me! :D

Thanks for the link I will give it a try. My jamb says 16X7. 5, but Dodge says 16X8. It seems like it would be easy to get these things right!

When I catch up with the Bandit, me and Fred will relay the good will.

Thanks
