Running Board Lights

I am installing lights on my running boards. Here is my plan. I intend to wire two relays with a battery lead to each one then on to the lights. I plan to excite one relay using the P-Light circut and one relay using the Dome Light circut. My goal is to be able to have the lights operate during the time my lights are on but also have running board lights when I trigger the remote key lock and the dome light comes on.



Any input as to whether my plan sounds functional or not? Any input as to truck wiring problems? I figure as long as I use a relay I should not create any excess amp draw on the trucks wiring or switches.
