I am shopping for running boards for my '00 3500. Can't find what I want (of course).

I like the looks of the fiberglass "ground effects" kits, but want something without the flares around the wheelwells. Anyone seen anything like what I described? I prefer ones that are Black or can be painted to match the truck.

Thanks

I have some that fit on a Quad Cab that are diamond plate from DC when I ordered my truck. I have replaced them with nerf bars for bigger tires.

I too have been shopping for 'steps' and have focused on running boards over tubular types for the protection they afford for the rocker panels. Although I am attracted to the nerf type Westin Stainless Chrome Tubular (lifetime warranty).

I'm presently looking at the J&J enterprises "Millenium" running boards. Stainless and 3" tubing. Real pricy though ($$$$) http://www.j-jent.com

Stull looks good but am shy about the 'non slip' surface.

Anyone else have any input?

Check out the pics in my site. Those are full length running boards that look like nerf bars with expanded metal across the top. They also flare out for the dually wheels. Not sure if they are what you're looking for, but I like them a lot.

I put dee-zee guardians on my truck. I love em. The instructions are now at the top of my "worst aftermarket instructions ever" list, but the boards are solid and look great. All aluminum with plastic trim, and galvanized steel mounting brackets. I think I paid $240 or so for em. .

Bill, the steps I use on my 200 Q/C, are Valley Street Steps. They are an ABS plastic attached to an aluminum support structure. They run from the backof the front wheel well to the end of the cab, and blend in nicely. They also do not stick out real far, so you do not always rub your leg on the board getting out if you do not use the step to exit.

I just purchased some Dee Zee aluminum running boards and I'm putting them on this weekend. I wanted running boards instead of the nerfs for more rocker panel protection from rocks and road debris. I received a catalog with my parts and Dee Zee has a good selection of runing boards and nerfs bars along with pushbars, brush guards, mud flaps, rocker panel dress ups and tailgates for 5ers. Just my 2 cents worth. :D

My '97 2500 came with the fiberglass boards & flairs. It is a 2wd and really looks good.

My personal favorite for truck accessories is always Lund Products. I think the quality and looks is second to none. My 2 reale (bits).

Cheers

John
