I am in the market for running boards for my 04 QC DRW4x4. I would like to have the extended piece in front of rear fender between cab and box.

Would prefer only those that mount to frame/cab mounts , not to lip of rockers.

What are you using and have you been happy with?

How much $ approx for your setup/brand.

Want to find good quality for reasonable $.

Appreciate all input and pics would be nice too.

Tough country has a nice board that uses direct bolt on application. This is what I will be using in the near future (kids are getting to heavy to lift for this old man).

Check out the Luverne Mega Step. There is a version that runs wheel to wheel.
They use the cab bolts and are wide enough so you can actually stand on them.
Stainless Steel doesn't come cheap however.

Check out WAAG. COM, I have the full length, one piece, with flare out around the dually fender. They bolt directly to the frame and are good and solid. I installed them myself on my '01 but paid to have installed on my '04. I believe they were around $400 or less. Each side has 3 step pads-under each door and in front of the dually fender which is great for accessing the bed, especially when hooked up to the 5th wheel.

I like my Dee Zee running boards and they got even better after I had them sprayed with Line X. I got tired of trying to keep the aluminum polished and fighting the oxidation now all it takes is a brush and some soap and the look like new again. Some folks don't like the full length running boards, some do, one thing they will do is keep your power panels chip free and looking good. Kinda hard to see, I need to get newer shots I have changed a few things on the outside. The boards cost me around 700 if I remember correctly and the Line X Xtra was 400

I really like my Stainless Steel Luverne with the Boxboard for the bed. I can't find my photo of them, but they do extend and flare out.

Price, I don't remember. They weren't cheap, but they are good quality. I did my own installation, so I saved the cost and I feel satisfied that they are installed properly. See Luverne

Thanks for the info .

Ran across a "one piece stainless" made for duallies with the rear kickout that is totally frame mounted... . Trouble is I can't remember the name... something like Putman???

Was told about these... ... apparently excellent quality/ proper mounting/non corrosive hardware.

Anyone heard of these??

I put ICI stainless steel running boards on my '09. They look almost exactly the same as the Luverne boards, but use frame mounts instead of screwing to the rocker panel.

I have the tough country on my 05 and have had them since truck was new and no problems very well made. I have put on a set from Brown's Welding, in Texas on my grandfather's truck and they are very comparable to the tough country.

how about fiber glass?

Hello

I had the stainless steel full boards on my 98, I saw the full fiber glass board on a ford and they were very solid so I put them on my 05. I am very happy with them and they improve the look of the truck and look part of the truck. They are very strong from the bed step all the way to the front. They also provide a fender lip front and back. Oo. Just my 2 cents worth.
