For those that have put boards on their 3G, did you need to drill the frame? Is there any concern with damage by drilling? Has anyone tried the Mopar boards and is drilling necessary for them? How about S. Steel boaards, do you like em? Thanks, Doc

I installed the J&J stainless steel boards on my dually. I am very pleased with them. No frame drilling required. There is some drilling required on other body parts. All brackets fit well and the boards are solid when finished. I get a lot of compliments on these.

Mopar running boards

I am very happy with our Mo par R/B but you have to drill into the cab body where the rubber or tape covers the holes at the lower bottom of the body,Not a very easy job for me(no truck lift)and a

lot of holes to drill, and you should have a 90*drill to help the job along If I remember right 12 holes to the side and not easy to drill straight in(close to the frame)Without the 90* drill(I cut a drill bit)

real short to do it. GWD :)

I installed a set of black plastic running boards (sorry, I don't remember the brand) that had 4 brackets per side. Each bracket used one of the factory holes in the sheet metal under the cab (covered w/tape) and needed 2 holes drilled in the pinch weld at the bottom of the cab (under the door). I wasn't crazy about drilling holes, thankfuly we don't have salty roads here.

I will second the comments on the J&J boards. Look great and I too have received a lot of compliments on them.

I installed Dee Zee Guardian boards on my truck, painted to match. Had to drill 3 holes in the rocker pinch weld, main brackets use the cab mounting bolts. Very sturdy, I've been happy with them.
