I was just reading some posts on pyro temps. Is my isspro pyro alright if it never goes below 300 with my truck not running. It idles around 400 or 450. And when i hold it flat on a little grade I can take it up the yellow if I hold it there long enough. I'm usually not pulling anything. I was testing it empty. Is this normal for my mods. (see my sig. ) I like the power my truck has now. It's a blast to drive. I even let my friend with a powerchoke watch me do a nice long brake torque. I think he's feeling a little weak in the knees. Oh yeah my peaks at about 27lbs. thanks for your help.

Troutdog,

Do you have the Isspro EV-series? If so, contact the place you bought them from, they are having trouble with them reading a little too high, yours sounds a lot too high to me though. My Pyro seems to read about 50* higher then it should... . i. e. when I idle down, it seems to take forever to get to 300*. Oh yeah, do a search in the Products/Accessories Forum, that is where I heard all of this :)

Those #'s do seem high. My Autometer works pretty well as the temp swings between shifts and idles around 300°F after getting off the highway and letting it sit for about 2 min. On the flat highway about 6 psi boost and 650 - 700 °F.

The Banks (Isspro) kit on my 89 acted the same way yours does, I never got it below 100 at -40 outside!!! It also idled at 350 - 400 and stayed there for ever. I like these Autometer's better IMO.

The dyno is the only place I saw over 1200 after a sustained 201 RWHp at 2450 Rpm, need new exhaust!!
