ULSD as Home Heating Fuel?

I ran a 50 /50 mix with no problem so, I switched to straight Bio. I've got about 500 miles on it with no problem at all.

Am I looking for trouble ahead? I know I can't run it in cold climate and, the VP can't take pre-heated fuel.

It runs much quieter and, there seems to be no power difference.

Running the B100! Good for you. Blue Sun in Boulder, CO stopped carrying it cause it was $6. 45 a gallon. They only offer B-20 otherwise which is what I'm running. I'm to afraid to run B100 straight anyway, but I was hoping to run a mix in the summer. A half tank B100 and half tank regular diesel to get a 50/50 mix? Guess I'll have to wait. Be sure to post up on your results running the B100:cool:

$6. 45 gal. !!! Thats not going to work. Im lucky to be buying it from a guy thats been making it on the side at home for four years now. He charges $2 bucks a gal. and, says it costs him . 80 cents to make.

I've got a 1,000 mile trip comming next week and, will post results upon return.

So far it runs great and will pass anything out there. Now I leave french fry clouds and, not near as black.

I would keep an eye on your filter. Bio is also a solvent and will clean all the crud from your system. I run B100 from around April to Nov. as long as night time temps stay above 40 degrees. When the temp gets below 40 you better add a little bit of #2 to avoid gelling issues.

So far after 6 years of B20 in the colder months and B100 in the warmer ones I have had no issues at all. Truck is quieter, feels smoother and I have noticed no changes in power even when towing the 5er. Right now for B100 ( 50/50 soybean oil and pig fat ) I am paying $4. 40/gal and #2 is $4. 60 and climbing

I have been running B100 for 2yrs, only problem was I had to changed my fass fuel lines, and in cold climate say under 25 I had to mix it with dino. Truck runs great.
