Kick started my truck today pulled up fuel silinoid and it rolled right off. Only problem is I have no gauges. Is this normal. I have fuel and oil pressure. No tach, voltage, or temp. Will the alternator charge the batteries enough to get power. Don't have any lights either. Thank you all for your help.

Sounds like you may have a bad key switch or wiring problem, although the lights should work no matter what position the key is in. Had any rodents under the hood lately? They can raise Cain with wiring. Also check all the fuses and breakers.

You failed to say why you kicked started the beast???
Dead battery??
I do know if you start it and the tach & volts & a/c you may have a blowen as i remember 5 amp fuse bottom left in the dash fuse panel first place to look.

I kick started the truck because the starter is brunt up. I went to turn it over the other day and the starter stayed ingaged in the flywheel. Could not get the cables off the batteries in time. Burnt up the starter and the fuel shut off silinoid. I have to drive about 170 miles on Thursday to get it home. Will this hurt anything, & will the bateries charge up?

Check to see if you blew any fuses or burnt up relays or wires.
The engine speed sensor is responsible for relay info to tach via PCM. No engine speed sensor no tach.
If the engine speed sensor also energizes the ASD relay which informs the PCM its got 12 volts running thru it. It also tells alternator to charge some how.
Check engine speed sensor, connections,wires.
Of course if you have auto trans/cruise control and its working fine then it is not the engine speed sensor.
No ASD relay no charge.
Don't know why temp would be messed up unless the sensors lost ground or wires were burnt up in wiring harness. The PCM gives a ground for sensors. I believe they ground up on head by injector pump
If you can't find problem you will have to have garage charge batteries up. You won't need much juice to run the engine but you mite need power to run other things.

I have had the starter stay engaged twice at least and the truck not shut down when key was turned to off position. (starter never smoked apparently just mechanically stuck in fly wheel)
Ignition switch, solenoid, starter(mechanical)? Never found out.
If ignition switch, starter relay, or solenoid(electrical)pulling the starter relay should turn off engine and starter.
If the starter or starter soleniond mechanically gets stuck and won't disengage (usually whirring sound) a vehicle with a manual can be put into high gear and rocked back and forth. Autos will have to be shut down and starter removed and freed by hand. If truck won't shut down try pulling fuse to ignition switch or pull apart connector to fuel shut off solenoid. You could also carry small bolt cutter(or large wire cutter) in tool box so you can cut cable to starter(if it won't shut down and is smoking). I would rather replace battery cable than starter/solenoid or other wiring that got burned up.
One time my truck did not shut down and it had been running at least for 3 to 5 minutes and no way did starter not disengagaing cause it that time. All three times I finally heard click and engine shut down by itself.
If ignition switch is stuck in start mode accessories will not function(radio, fan for heat/ac... )

Should your starter ever stay engaged--------
Get your hammer out FIRST slid under the truck (emergency brake set of course) and give the starter a heavy blow.
Tapping on the solenoid is best but it would take a long bar to get to it.
What has happened is the contact disc have fused to the contacts, this sometimes happens because of low voltage for what ever reason----------AND most of the times it will be most likely to happen on a new solenoid/starter.
THAT dose'nt mean you have to run out and get new parts,I've seen it on big rigs for years, and on mime at three months, now still have the same starter ,4-1/2 years old and ++700k.

Hey guys I really appraciate your all help. The money spent joining the register has been very well worth it. Being a college student money is always tight. I mean peanut butter and jelly for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I really appraciate all of your alls help. Thanks
