Archived Running with an EGT of 400, then nothing

98. 5 24 valve. 130,000, banks computer, EGT and Boost gages.



I have been getting an occasional drop in umph when cruisin at 70. boost remains at 10 normally. Last night boost stayed at 10 EGT dropped to 400. Problem seemed to drop of when I stoppeed and drained water off of filter.



Today she just quit running when I waas cruisin at 75. No fuel, engine stopped running will not start. I am told it might be a fuel pump.



What say yee gurus?

Reads like what others have said with dying lift pump. It is cheap insurance to use a fuel pressure gauge on 24 valve engines. Insufficient fuel flow is also hard on the injector pump.

I agree with dalton, check fuel pressure and get a fuel pressure guage, it should read somewhere around 15 psi, check that out first. And change your fuel filter while your at it.
