Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) A New Lift Pump Theory??

I tried the 180 thermostat and then wondered what if I didn't have one in at all. So to keep the o-ring for sealing I removed the guts out of the original 190 thermostat.

It worked out great. On a 90 degree day the water temp stayed at 160 even with the air conditioner on and in stop and go traffic. My automatic transmission trans was cooler also. It could be just my imagination but my Turbo temp and manifold temps seemed a little lower.

The engine turbo temp auto shut off also shut my engine off sooner. I am really pleased with the results. Now when I pull a hill with a full load I can cool down on the downside before increasing the temps again.

AHHhhh - I *love* the info supplied in an owners sig line - especially when I don't hafta push a bunch of extra keystrokes and wade thru a lot of extra BS to see what I'm really interested in...

(gets off soapbox... ):p

ANYWAY, I see you are using both a "magic box" AND the PS propane setup - how do you like it, what setting do you use both on, how long have you been using it, and WHERE/HOW did you route your in-cab wiring and (assumed) guage lines?

I wanna get a "box" for mine, and already have the PS propane setup from my old truck, and need all the info I can get - thanks in advance!

;) :D
