Just wanted to vent :-{} . Now that the weather is nice I spent some time cleaning up my truck. I found numerous rust spots on the front bumper on my 04. 5 bought new in Feb 04. Also found where the chrome on the grille is wrinkling. I had 40,300 when I cleaned it up. Went to the dealer knowing that I am past warranty on mileage to see what they say. Local dealer checks with Chrylser and canned response is no way! It just upsets me that DC will not even discuss this with me. I put on about 3,000 a month so you can not tell me that that stuff was not there at 36,000. My stupidity for not going thru the truck with a fine tooth comb prior to 36,000. Oh well, thanks for letting me vent.

Anyone else have these issues? If you haven't check your truck BEFORE 36,000 MILES IF DON'T HAVE THE EXTENDED!!!!!!!!!!

Had my rear bumper looked at recently as rock chips have initiated rust on the edges. Response from the Service Manager was that it is not covered and I should use chrome polish to keep it shiny. I looked at it again last weekend and the whole underside of the corner is rusty and the inside of the bumper looks pretty rusty for a June delivered truck. Makes a guy kinda wonder who PCR'd and Star programmed the chrome vendor at DC. I like my dealer, my salesman, diesel tech and service writer but the SM is fairly unmoveable on bumper rust. My cheapie $26K toyota didn't exhibit rust until 4 years and 60k miles.

I Had about 5 small rust spots on my 2004 trucks rear bumper, noticed it while cleaning my truck this spring. I talked to my local dealer on the phone,he replaced it no questions asked. coobie Oo.

The grill is plastic and the "chrome" on my old (94) wrinkled and flaked off starting around 60k. . Its obvious that they build this stuff to just make warranty. Yes--frustrating. I fully expect my new truck to do the same, at which point I will look for an aftermarket grill, bumpers etc. Looks like your climate doesn't help with the rust in the winter, but hey I would trade a little rust to get out of CA. Wife and I have been to South Dakota and really liked it there.
