2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission rust spots on paint dealer says not covered

I have little tiny rust spots on my 2001. They appear to be on the surface you can rub them vigorously and they go away. Dealer says it is not covered under warranty(truck has 7 year 50K bumper to bumper) 6 months after I bought the truck they were on the truck. They clayed the truck and rewaxed it and it went away. THey have came back and it looks really bad from about 8 feet away. Any body have any suggestions on this?

Could be from rail dust, when it was shipped from the factory.

I had this on all three of the 2nd gens I owned and I know others that had it also. On my '03, the color (garnet red) is so dark it's hard to notice if it's there. I haven't seen it on my 1st gen yet. I only noticed it in the winter time and it appears to be a mineral in the cinder material used on roads.



Mine also came off with waxing but took a little elbow grease...
