I have an '01 with door's that are starting to really rust since this winter. I got an estimate for $2200, that's with new door's. I was thinking about having them fixed and rhino lining the bottom half of my truck to protect it from rock chip's and salt. Does this work and does anyone have picture's of there truck's with the rhino or line-x ! I need to fix this eye sore this spring. Thank's:)

I dont' have any pics, but rhino lining is a great idea. I'm thinking of doing it in the spring. my truck is two tone, so I figured that will make it easy, just go right to where the colors meet. I saw pics of toyota landcruiser j4 that they rhino lined the entire vehicle and then hand spackled different colors over the whole thing, it looked sick. I just cut a big rectangle in the door (to get rid of all the rust) and pop riveted a piece of metal behind it and then bondod it.

thinking of that too. leaning towards new doors, and get them unpainted, have them chemically cleaned and coated in marine epoxy. Hey if it can withstand salt water full time, it can survive MN. Then just body paint over the epoxy.

I did mine last weekend. I think it turned out pretty well really. Just got Herculiner from Farm & Fleet for $80. Took me about 6 hours to grind off rust, prep, tape and apply a couple coats.

How do you get them to honor it for warranty. I have an 01 that is still under a bumper to bumper extended warranty and I have seen some rust in the seems.

My friend had the same problem on his 96 and took it to the dealer and they sprayed on something close to rhino lining or herculiner and it fixed the problem and it looks good. I can compare it to brianv31's truck since they are the same color but instead of black he went with silver and where there is the body line above the wheel well he also had it continue along that so it flows over the whole truck.
