I recently bought a new set of after market tires and wheels. After making my first cross country run with them and driving through a lot of rain and snow, I noticed the chrome washers on my lug-nuts are starting to rust and stain? the alum. wheels.

I've called several specialty nut and bolt companies trying find a S. S. washer with a 9/16" ID hole that might work. The only ones they had were way too big OD, like 2" or bigger.

Does anyone know where I can get any kind washer (SS or ?) that will fit and won't rust. My existing rusty washers are about ID-9/16" & OD 1&1/4". I think a washer as big as 1&5/8" OD might work.

TIA for any ideas on this.

Ray

I would call the manufacturer and tell them what is happening and what the solution they recommend.

DavidC, The only problem is I don't know who made the lug nuts. They came in a box with no name. Probably China.
Anyway I finally found a guy that sells SS washers for lug nuts in the L. A. area. $1. 50/ea. plus shipping. If anyone wants any, PM me and I'll give you his #.
By the way, I was way off in my thread regarding my washers ID size. The stud size is 9/16" but the washer ID is 13/16" so it can slip over the shank on the Mag-nut.
