Maybe I'm just a bit anal... ... . but seems to me it would have been nice of D/C to either powerdercoat or paint or something... . that (now) rusty exhaust manifold. What have others done to tkae care of that eyesore under the hood??

With the temperature swing it goes through, nothing except Jet Hot 2000 or HPC can stay on without eventually getting rusted through. The cheapest way to hide it is to get a Thermal Exhaust Blanket. I got mine from Genos.

Rust Oleum BBQ paint is good for 1200 degrees and is only about $3 a can.

I've used the paint that has bits of stainless steel in it. I forget the name of it, but it's made by a Corvette club. Comes out OK, but does require touchup after a few months.

Kev:

I have had good luck with using any
"high heat" black spray paint from
"Auto Zone" or "Advance Auto Parts. "
Before painting it you can use "naval
jelly" to get off any excess rust. I
also used a small wire brush on mine.

I do not recommend the "exhaust blanket. "
I have some friends who had their
stock manifolds crack possibly due
to the trapped heat.

The high heat paint seems to work well.
Mine will "discolor" slightly after a
period of time, but all you have to do
is "touch-up" those spots and it looks
good again!

Hope this helps you!

Try keeping the hood closed. Works great for me.

Amazingly, the manifold on my '00 was painted the same black as the engine, and I have pegged the 1500* EGT gauge several times and after 43k miles,it still looks like the day I bought it.

Now... my '95 is a differnt story. It looks naaaasstyy! I been thinking of taking the manifold off and removing the rust with some navel jelly or media blast. I have some "cast iron grey" manifold paint from Eastwood that has worked great before on musclecars,so I'm thinking of using it on my '95.
