The rest of my truck looks pretty good but the wheels are starting to bug me. I will probably sandpaper and paint the wheels but wondered what the rest of you have done. Dale

I had mine sandblasted, cost me 40$ but is well worth it because there is no way to sand all the rust out of it. I then epoxy primered, basecoat color and then cleared it. It looks and holds up great. Even if you rattle canned them after sand blasting it would work pretty good.

When I first got my truck. The first thing I did was pull the sims or hub caps whichever you want to call them. :D I cleaned the rims with laqure thinner and painted them with Dodge rally wheel silver.

Looked a lot better than the dented/scratched sims it had on it.

A couple of months later I got my alumn rims installed.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't want to spend much time and money on the wheels so will probably just clean them up and paint(brush or spray) with Rust-Oleum.

While rolling my sixth wheel and tire out of the garage I realized that they are getting heavier! I thought I, and the truck, were going to live for ever. I wonder if I could get the spare tire back up where it belongs next time I have to use it. Even when I was younger I had a hard time with that job.

Bought these tires ten years ago. Lots of tread left and no cracks but getting old. Fortunately I carry very little weight in the truck.

Thanks again for the help. Dale

Yep that's what I did. Good for about 2 or 3 years, then hit 'em again.
