I just read over on the irv2 site that RustyJC has passed on. While I never met him in person he was a solid and knowledgeable contributor here for many years and posted a lot of good info. I am sure many longer term members remember him well I don’t believe he was posting much here the last couple years though.

Wow, sorry to hear that. It was RustyJC that posted a picture of the B&W elite series flat bed here on TDR in 06, and that post influenced my quest for the new 07 MY C&C in 06. I did purchase the bed and the C&C, (see signature) if it wasn't for that post, I wouldn't own the truck I have. Rest in peace Rusty, and thanks for all your input here.

Yep, he joined a month and a half before I did back in 2001. RIP RustyJC!!!!

Some of us “old timers” joined before there was a website- or even before some even had internet. I know I got the magazine before I had internet.
I wonder the birthdate of this site? I’m guessing it was late ‘97, and that’s right about when I got online. I also recall that there was a reshuffling of this site in the early 2000’s and everyone basically had to re register.
Anyone else around long enough to remember all this?

That’s just it.

That’s the TDR itself. The date that’s on your profile is when you registered for the website- and maybe joined at the same time.

The man I bought my 92 from was a (I thought) charter member- he joined through a flyer that he got at the dealer where he ordered the truck. I have one of those old issues somewhere- came with the truck. It was more like a car club newsletter.

I haven’t been around that long; but it’s very common for “join dates” to be off with the way forum softwares were changing in the early 2000’s.

I do know he’d been around for quite some time when I came on the the scene ~2007.
