Thanks, TDR Staff

Looks like I am a 2 time Grandpa

That sounds "Dubious"

:( Here we go o_O
Some of us “old timers” joined before there was a website- or even before some even had internet. I know I got the magazine before I had internet.
I wonder the birthdate of this site? I’m guessing it was late ‘97, and that’s right about when I got online. I also recall that there was a reshuffling of this site in the early 2000’s and everyone basically had to re register.
Anyone else around long enough to remember all this?
I remember there was a shakeup of sorts back then but I sure do not remember any of the details other than I was issued a new password. I don't know for sure but my join date shows 4/24/2000 which may be correct. I bought the truck in August of 99 and new nothing about a TDR so it probably was a little while sorting things out.

We bought our 1993 in 1994 used. I found the TDR sometime between then and June of 2001 when we bought the 2001.5. I recall that if you wanted to post in that time frame, you had to become a paying member, so with the new 2001.5 I decided to join the paying members.

At any rate RustyJC was an early member and will be remembered. We lost NCHauler also a while back. RIP Jim also!

Back in the day (late 90's early 2000's) there was a lot of trial and error as a small group of folks discovered how to make power with our trucks. Piers, Joe Donnelly, Scotty, Noel Thomas (HVAC, Raced a 24v truck in 2002 when it wasn't cool, died an early death in '03) and other's whose names escape me at the moment. I was first on line in about '97. There was a site that predated the TDR and several members came over for it. We did loose a lot of good info when the site had a big update and purge in about 2000. All the intel from those early discovery days is gone.

RIP RustyJC

Piers and Joe are right at the top of this. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Piers a few times, great fella.

Piers did me a huge solid a long long time ago. He sent me a custom P7100 without me sending him any dollars. My truck was broke down and needed a new pump. I sent him my seized (#3 plunger due to #1 fuel) pump. A few months later I paid him the costs of the whole shebang when I had some bucks. He didn’t know me from anyone. Just some random fella on the Internet. What a guy man. I will always remember that.
