RV injectors in 2005

have any of you guys put in the cummins RV injectors in yours 2005s yet... . if so what kinda gains did ya get? im thinkin about changin over to them but want need to know which ones and where to get them,... right not im straight piped and am about to do a new intake out of from a big K&N and some 4"exhaust pipe i got from kenworth today. well thanx in advance guys... .

Didn' know they had RV injectors for the 05, or for the CR engine in general.

I really dislike making asumptions but here goes. The injectors on the '03 and up are electro-mechanically actuated. The '02 and below are pressure actuated. I'm sure you knew that already. The RV 275 injectors (which I think you are talking about) will not work on the CR engine.

The ISB02/Industrial ISBe (Echo) still uses the "03/04" style injectors.

Those in question have a crown style piston bowl and have not changed since their introduction.



The 04. 5 and 05 engines use a different injector (tip). The piston is bowl larger in diameter but shallower (looks like a marine piston).



So in short the "RV" injectors would not have the proper spray angles and could *possibly damage your engine (cylinder walls, pistons etc. ).

I heard from a cummins rep that stopped by that they tried a set of "600" injectors in a 555 motor, and it burnt a piston in like 100 miles or less - Not sure if it is true, But on my dealer service site the 04. 5'+ certainly do have a different part number

i heard somethin from a buddy about his brother thinkin about RV injectors and thought id ask cause ****. . i dont know everything... what are my options for injectors and all that? what would you go with? thanx for the great info though guys... . i just learned something new... . well thanx in advance again for the upcoming replies

1) DIesel dynamics full injectors - 50-100 hp (extrudhoned)

2) DIesel dynamics , Nozzles only - 50-100 hp (still extrudhoned I think) --I have sold a few of these, and they look very nice, almost kept them :-laf



3) F1diesel.com - EDM injectors - 40+ hp (mainly used with TST box)

Go with a company that specializes in injectors, F1.



DD makes good stuff as well, but DonM puts some serious hours in developing injectors and it is worth the extra $$$ IMHO.
