Fellow RVers and Residents of North-Eastern VA or Metro-DC Area:
After the Lone Star TDR Rally in Kerrville, TX the weekend of October 10-11 I plan to travel direct to Sterling, VA (west of DC) to visit my grandson and his fiancee.
I'll be pulling my TT and want to be able to spend three or four days in the Sterling area around the weekend of October 17 - 18.
A quick look at the RV park guide last night shows no listed RV parks in the city of Sterling. From previous visits to the DC area I know that RV parks are in short supply and assume that real estate is so expensive and zoning so restrictive that there are no RV parks or mobile home parks within 60 - 80 miles of DC.
Have any of you fellow RVers visited the area and found an RV park within a reasonable distance? Any TDR members who live in the Sterling or Metro-DC area who can suggest an RV park within commuting distance? My guess is city ordinances probably prevent parking at Wal-Marts or SAM's Clubs and there are probably no truck stops near DC either.
Any suggestions or experiences that would help will be appreciated.
Harvey
