RV Insurance?

Sorry for the stupid question, but is a RV toilet seat the same as a in home toilet seat as the mounting screws. My RV seat hinge broke and I would like to be able to go to wal-mart and just get a less expensive one than what is see at RV dealers for about $45. 00

I guess the answer depends entirely what toilet your RV is using but the answer is probably no. Thetford is the manufacturer of most RV toilets and they are typically smaller and probably shaped differently than a home style toilet.

You could simply take your RV toilet seat in and compare it at Wal-Mart or leave it in your truck, go in and buy a replacement, carry the new one out and compare it with the original, and return it if it doesn't fit.

I have an aftermarket one from Lowes on my RV - standard size fit right on there. I'm kinda partial to the padded ones (talk about the easy life!).

Harvey, I think by in large you are right. After reading the post I went out & looked at my Thetford & there is no way a Home Depot, Lowe's or Wal-Mart toilet seat is going to fit on my toilet. I know when I had to replace mine several years ago I looked a several at above stores but had to buy mine at Camping World. I know that there has been changes in RV toilets so maybe you can now use other seats but mine you can not.

If you can fit a regular seat there is one on the market that has a easy-close set up. You set nudge the lid or seat and it will close with out banging or closing fast-silent-no noise. I have two of these (in the house) and they are great. How ever your wife will still want them down for her. I bought mine at HD.
