Is anyone here involved in transporting trailers as a business? I've run into guys on occasion doing that and they say it's fun, good travel, and some profit. I'd like to look into it but dunno what's required as far as training, insurance, Driver's lic (commercial), etc. I'm pretty sure you can't stay in the trailer you are transporting (most are new) but that's OK.

Thanks for any tips...

Delivery

Here is a link to a transport company in Northern Indiana. I actually live just south of Indianapolis and frequent the Flying J truckstop there on 65. Seems there is always guys there who are delivering trailers. I have actually talked to quite a few of them on occassion. If you live close to a truck stop, swing by a few times; I would guess you would run into someone eventually.

Anyways, I have to believe this would be a rough way to earn a living!!! But, good luck.

Thanks for that link. It wouldn't be a 'complete living' type job as I am basically retired. The guys I have talked to said it was an interesting 'occasional' gig with mostly short (<1000 mi) haul. I bookmarked the link and will check into it.

I totally agree it would be a sweet "part time" gig!!! I love seeing different parts of the country and driving!!! Good luck.
