You have an 06, the first version was and is just fine! Subesquent versions added bell's and whistles that people wanted, change = potential for issues..... Marco has to balance stability vs. everyone's wish list and you can tell by this thread that people want "new features"..... I've used every version 2. 0x that's come out without issue... they keep getting better and better... . progress, it's not always all it's cracked up to be... . get the version your happy with and stick to it and it's no longer an issue. Also, if you want total stability, go with a box (or someone else's programmer), they'll be the same for the next 500 years.

all im saying is this has been out for a while for the 06's now, and it seems everytime there is an update, someone has some kind of issue with it, weather it be pinging or fail to load etc. now the threads are so cluttered you dont know if your going to be able to take it out of the box and make it work, or if your gonna have to update it because of a software bug. Im holding out for this for 1 reason and that is because I think it has the potential to be one of the top power enhancements on the market. just waiting for the "final software" to be written so I can drive my truck instead of my keyboard.

I was about start a thread like this, so it's good to see people are thinking of things to improve on an already great product. So my current wish list is as follows:

-Make TC behave in O/D off the same as it does in Tow/Haul. That is, lock sooner and, most importantly, stay locked while decelerating to 25-30 MPH (whatever it does in T/H).

-Make the oil pressure gauge a real gauge with real pressure readings. While your at it, make the coolant temp accurate too. 140*is 140*.

If you want a final software then i would say buy something else if you want a product that is the best engineered, continually being improved upon with chreysler updates and smarty updates and one that can be tailored to your truck, buy a smarty. I would say the software version out now is the best so far, as driveability is concerened. The nice thing about smarty is you can choose, the others thats all you get.

lock up

Hey Tinman, if you want you lock up to work better you can enable the ground input on the ECM for the Ehaust brake, this makes the transmission shift like it was in tow haul and keeps the TC locked until 2nd gear and 30 mph. The other cool feature is it downshifts better. At 50 mph it shift from o. d to direct. You don't have to install the EB but it will set a soft code but not the CEL light.

PS this works for the 06+

I would like to see the downloads available on disc. I have horrible internet services and more often than not the high speed is out of service. Goes with living in the boonies. I can see where a slow dial-up might have glitches. That could be some of the problems some are having, especially those who have to download several times and then 'it' finally gets right.

My computer skills are marginal at times, the downloading problems I have had could be either me or the internet services I have, makes for real frustration sometimes.

GO Bob!!

Now this thread is going the way it was intended!

I may be one of the fortunate - But I have gone thru several updates so far & have found nothing to complain about.

Marco - Keep up the Good Work!

engine cooling system temp could probably be done...

... but for the oil pressure, no go. . hardware changes would need to be done. . new pressure transducer to replace stock switch, new wiring to the ecm [needs 3 wires, stock switch 2 wires] and once the hardware was changed, and software changed to match, going back to stock software would require going back to stock hardware. .

Oh well, the oil pressure would have been nice. I guess I'll just have to get a real mechanical gauge. Anybody hear anything on the Optix oil press/temp gauges??

24VChev: how do I enable the ground inputs?? Is in in the owner's manual or service manual?? That sounds like just the thing I was looking for.

I'm quite satisfied with the software that came with it. I would like to see a higher defuel RPM, something near 4000. Adjustability in that arena isn't important to me, my right foot will take care of it. A PTO or high idle option would be cool as well. If one of those things come about I'll update my software.

I'm really happy with mine. The only thing I really want to see is an additional set of competetion programs that raise rpms to 4-4. 5k. I'd think if its possible it would happen after a while, as we already have those aftermarket turbo programs.

I'd like to see one that was stock transmission friendly, maybe a little less expensive that had maybe half of options the current one does. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there is a market out there to have a product that places more of an emphasis on producing the correct timing to get the best mpg. Knowing myself, if I have the product in hand that can destroy the stock transmission, and I have to show the restraint not to use it... . Well, that's just not possible. :-laf
