Just returned from the San Diego International Auto Show. After looking at everyone else's offerings,I beelined over to the Dodge exhibit expecting to see a 6. 7 C&C. No dice! Every Dodge product+ 5. 9 CTD's in every c onfiguration, but nothing of their new line of commercial offerings. What gives? This would be the perfect time to show off what should be the best commercial application available. Zero sales reps. in sight either in the diesel area. Superduty's were locked up tight with hoods closed. Chevy products were open and well represented by compny reps. Guess they want to move some product. Oh well!

Just curious.

Bob, there are 2 CC at the dealer on Balboa if you want to see all the extra plumbing on top of the new 6. 7's--Russ

Thanks Russ, but I was just curious. Compared to the others,Cummin's technology looks simpler. Didn't notice the concept Challenger. New Tundra is there. Reg cab looks prety good, but the extended cab is downright ugly. We could open/close doors but that was about it. Tundra's door are approx. the same dimensions as my '07,but much lighter.

"Weak Show"

The San Diego show has always been "weak". You need to go to the L. A. show lots more there.

I avoid L. A. like the plague. I'll settle for the "weak" version down here. I have to go up to Baldwin Park soon. I'm dreading it. The Ford's were locked up tight. I don't think they wanted anybody to see the mess under the hood. "Foolkiller" posted that a 6. 7 was there when he went. I think the hood was closed when I went. A lotta moms there to distract you. :)

LA Show didn't have any of the 6. 7l's either although the new challenger was there and it was cool. We checked out the new Ford King Ranch they had and it looked ridiculous. I used to really like the F Series (had three, then bought a new '04 with a 6. 0l PowerStroke that incinerated after 300 miles - now I will not touch one). Also, the Ford's have a new tailgate step that is integrated into tailgate with a arm that pops up to help you climb into the truck bed. Overall, this may have seemed like a good idea on paper, but it made the tailgate very heavy and I would feel stupid unfolding this thing to climb into the truck bed. The tires and bumper work great.

Ford tailgate.

Yeah, that tailgate was one step away from a walker. I'm old,but not helpless. I did enjoy the boxy styling of the Concept Fairlane. Lots of room and a high roofline.

There was a C&C at the LA show, because I had to show the rep. were the HP rating was on the Cummins, it is in the rear of the engine on top. I was disappointed that they only had a ST model unlike the Rodeo in Vegas, were they had a Laramie version with all the options on it.

The display in Vegas was awesome with 3 trucks in the C&C version with and without beds plus all other new trucks in the 5. 9 on display. They were the fully loaded versions and a lot of reps that knew what they were talking about, mainly because Dodge is the Offical truck of the Pro Circuit
