s.O.S. Gear seal ?

Greetings one and all,



Got home from towing this weekend and was checking under the hood, I have oil spraying onto part of lower radiator hose and alternator. Looks like it could be coming from upper passenger side of gear housing cover.



Anyone have Idea what might be causing this. If its a oil seal and gear housing gasket How much would a shop charge to replace gasket and front oil seal. I don't have the tools or know how to do myself.



Wold be willing to help fix and pay for someone to give me a hand. Figure I can kill the kdp at same time.

Is the leak around the fan hub?



That is the place that cracks when a KDP comes out. Unbolt the fan hub from the block and look at the timing case and see if it is broken.

I have a friend that killed his from such an oil leak, it was only the gear cover bolts loose. He never thought to check and tighten them, just added oil until it got away from him, bolts got looser as it ran. I read on this board that such loose bolts are somewhat common.
