Title is incorrect due to typo, it is a Model 586

I have a Bill Elliot commemorative CORRECTED: Model 586 Nickel, 6" Barrel, in 357 Mag. Never fired. Have display case and original box for weapon. Does anybody have a realistic idea of value? I have googled around and see number all over the place. I'd like to sell it and get a new 45. I understand commemorative guns have a very limited market, and harbor no illusions that I'll be able to retire on it LOL.

TFucili, where did you get a piece like that? That is really cool! Love the "awesome Bill from Dawsonville" bit. Should have no problem selling it once you find the right market to advertise it in.

Well, back then I was a die-hard Ford guy and a huge fan of the Elliot boys, and followed NASCAR religiously. I had been getting the "Grand National Scene" paper and it was advertised in there. By then NASCAR was starting to get too big for its britches, introduced restrictor plates, and IMHO forgot the fans who got them where they were, and we stopped going to races and following it pretty quickly thereafter.

I can understand your feelings towards NASCAR. Since being a total gear head junkie, I'll tune into ANY KIND of racing or motor sports. I've picked up on some of the politics and personalities, and I think Bill Elliott is a decent guy. He really had a good run in those years.
That is a fantastic item!

Man, if I could type I'd be dangerous. I have no idea how, but I screwed up the model number. I've edited the body of the post, but the title is still incorrect. Sorry about that!

No, I wouldn't mind eventually owning a 1911 also, but more along the lines of a full sized Glock/Springfield/Sig/Beretta etc. I don't have a strong brand preference. Mostly concerned about reliability and how it feels in my hand. I think it's pretty hard to buy a "bad" gun today.

I have one polymer based handgun in my collection, but it's of less expensive cost. It's very loose and doesn't shoot very well at 25yds. But like I said, it's cheaper model.

I love how easy it is to field strip a Glock. Just not a fan of the polymer based handguns.
